Ian Glennon
Head of Service Desk
Ian joined OptiStar with six years’ experience building and managing IT service desk teams in the Boston area, especially supporting Biotech, Pharma, and Life Sciences companies.
Previously, Ian worked as an IT Project Manager for one of Denmark’s largest construction firms. Sadly, he never got to travel to such exotic locations as Siberia, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan, where some of the projects he built IT systems for were constructed. Ian’s first job in Denmark was doing Systems Administration for the British Embassy in Copenhagen. The highlight of this job was meeting then-Prime Minister, Tony Blair.
Ian was born in the UK (back when it was still part of the European Union). In addition to the USA, he has lived and worked in six other countries: Tanzania, Madagascar, New Zealand, Slovenia, Denmark, and Sweden.
Ian enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include watching sports and movies (especially science fiction), as well as walking his dogs. Ian has published several short stories and is working on a novel which – at this rate – will be ready for publication after he retires!
